The boring parts
Maintenance tracker
Strings go dull, jacks crackle, and a case left open in a dry room is a slow problem. This page is a list so the boring parts do not depend on memory. Check what you actually did: wipe the strings and bridge, look at windings and ball-ends, wipe the fretboard and condition it only if the wood is unfinished, feel the strap buttons, listen for crackle at the jack, see whether the tuners hold, and close the case if the room swings between dry and damp.
Write, do not diagnose
There is a line for where a buzz starts and a reminder to compare the 12th fret with the intonation tester. Those are observations. The page will not tell you the neck is twisted or that a fret must be replaced. A string-change block records the date, the gauge, the brand or alloy, and which strings you replaced. It does not remind you in six weeks. Download the PDF if you want the note later. Refresh the page and the ticks are gone, because nothing is written to local storage.
A light schedule, said plainly
Many players change a light set somewhere between a few weeks and a few months, sooner if the strings feel dead or rusty. That is a habit, not a rule from this site. Humidity advice is the same kind of sentence: a closed case is the usual, cheap protection when a room swings. It is not a promise that a guitar will not move.
Questions
- Does it track several guitars?
- Only if you say so in the notes and download a PDF per instrument. The page itself has one sheet.
- Will it book a technician?
- No. It gives you a page of checks to take with you, or to decide you do not need to go.
